2. The challenge
The goal was to create an interactive experience with the WOW factor that visitors at the UX Enterprise Fair could “play” with during their limited time between talks. It had to be simple, fast, and visually appealing to leave a lasting impression.
|
After finalizing the labels and pillars, we brainstormed a presentation structure that would allow visitors to quickly and clearly see how Sogeti applies its expertise. After many iterations, we landed on:
|
After sketching ideas, I knew I wanted a single home screen where visitors could immediately see that it was all about Sogeti and feel intrigued to click on something.
When a user clicked on a tile, the app would zoom in on a specific case, offering an immersive experience, before seamlessly returning to the home screen. To maintain balance, I skipped one case and used a tile specifically for Sogeti’s expertise. The labels, highlighted in red, ensured clarity without overshadowing the design. Integrating the QR code into the expertise tile was another challenge—it needed to be functional yet unobtrusive. After many iterations, I achieved a design that balanced functionality, flow, and engagement. |
The first screen for the cases served as both the thumbnail and the starting point when zoomed in, providing context about the client. During the design process, I experimented with different placements for the labels, ensuring they didn’t block the beautiful client photos. I tested a blue blob, a solid white rectangle, and several other layouts. Ultimately, I chose a semi-transparent white blob, which elegantly showcased the labels and text without overshadowing the photo. The accompanying photo highlights these iterations, with changes marked in red.

Outcome & LearningsResults
This project brought significant visibility to Sogeti as the gold sponsor of the UX Enterprise Fair 2023 at the NS headquarters. The app and booth received positive feedback, and shortly after, Sogeti was approached to develop a dashboard for another client. Lessons Learned I discovered the importance of making the most of available resources. Due to time constraints, the app was built in PowerPoint instead of Figma. This taught me to prioritize and make clear design decisions. Including everything was not possible, so I focused on fewer cases to create a stronger impact. If I were to do this again, I would create the app in Figma for greater flexibility and dedicate more time to refining the case content.
