1. Overview

A new logo that is recognizable through its shapes, its colours and fits the modern times of 3D and high-quality rendering.

With the launch of a new portfolio, graduating and designing a new CV, I thought that it was time for a new logo. A new logo that would be recognizable by its shapes, design, and colours and one that would suit me.
The aim of the logo was that it should have my colours namely: black and red. After many iterations, I concluded that those colours were a bit harsh on the eyes. I decided to go for “Guardsman red” and “River Bed (the grey-blue colour)”.

I wanted the shape to be simple so that the logo would be easy recognized. This is important because I want to have a lasting impression on my YouTube audience and employers. The shapes of the logo are rounded, which gives the logo a playful allure.

Furthermore, the future trend of fluent design (of Microsoft) inspired me to also make the logo in 3D. One of the benefits of having a 3D mock-up logo is to give the viewer a perspective of how it would look in the real world.

3. Outcome & Learnings

While designing I learned numerous new things. Originally, I started in PowerPoint. I discovered the benefits of having an SVG file and the fact that it could be transferred to other design programs and the web. Furthermore, set out to design the logo in Lunacy. After the logo was finished, I learned to create, from the ground up, to make a logo in 3D in Vectary.
